May the Lord answer you when you are in distress;
may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.
May he send you help from the sanctuary
and grant you support from Zion.
May he remember all your sacrifices
and accept your burnt offerings. Selah.
May he give you the desire of your heart
and make all your plans succeed.
We will shout for joy when you are victorious
and will lift up our banners in the name of our God.
May the Lord grant all your requests.      Psalm 20:1-5

1. Assess Your Situation

Chapter 12 of our book "At the Heart of The Matter" we talk about Making a Life Plan as caring individuals.  But before we can make a truly efficient plan we must assess our current situation to plan for the future.  Step 1 of our four step process includes understanding your capacity and stress level as a caring individual.  In addition, we've included a few post assessment questions that should really give you a good start in proceeding to Step 2: Develop A Plan

Step 1: Assess Your Situation- When assessing your caregiving situation we would like to recommend taking both the Stress Level Assessment and the Caregiver Capacity Assessment as a starting point.  These are short, no-cost, online assessments and you will see your results immediately upon completion.

Listed below are three post assessment questions you should ask yourself after completing your Stress Level Assessment and Caregiver Capacity Assessment.

  1. What is your caregiving situation and your capacity to assist in a caregiving role?

  1. What can your loved one do for himself/herself?

  1. What kind of assistance can you offer your loved one today and in the future?
